California Regional Water Quality Control Board Sets Maximum Level of Chromium-6 in Drinking Water

Project Navigator, Ltd. (PNL) continues to perform as the Independent Review Program (IRP) manager at PG&E’s Cr(VI) Groundwater Remediation Program in Hinkley, CA. PNL’s role is to advise members of the Hinkley Community on remedial progress, in collaboration with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board and PG&E. The pathway to establish a Cr(VI) drinking water standard has been long, with Hinkley often in the spotlight.

On April 17, 2024, the Water Board voted unanimously to set the maximum contaminant level of Cr(VI) in drinking water to be 10 parts per billion. As the IRP Manager, PNL will continue to evaluate remedial progress and provide technical assistance.
